Composite door lock repair in Norton S8 – Avantis gearbox replacement

We recently completed a composite door lock repair in Norton, Sheffield S8. The customer could not lock their older Yorkshire Windows composite door. The handles were badly worn, and the euro cylinder was also faulty.

Failed Avantis 45mm gearbox

We checked the multipoint locking system and traced the main fault to a failed Avantis 45mm centre gearbox. This stopped the door from locking properly.

The euro cylinder’s internal cam had also moved out of position. As a result, the customer could not remove the key when the lock was engaged.

New Hoppe security handles and door lock

We fitted a new Avantis 45mm gearbox and upgraded the handles to PAS 24 Hoppe security handles. We also replaced the faulty euro cylinder with a new lock supplied with five keys.

Hoppe makes a wide range of door handles and security hardware.

With all three faults repaired, the customer could lock and unlock their existing composite door correctly.
